CCW Permit Holders.....

Within the last couple of days, I was reading where the Repugnant of Kalifornicate "has over 33,000 Concealed Weapons Permit Holders." Now, I say, that's a substantial amount of fine folks a packin'. Sort of brings me to another question. How many are there carrying illegally?

I heard in Utah, it was estimated that there was 2 carrying illegally for every one carrying legally. If that were the case in Kalifornicate, that would mean there is about 99,000 folks carrying guns on any given day. What percentage of the population would that be? What's the population of that State? Maybe 20 million or so?

Now that makes me feel quite safe! Given that should our great Nation be attacked from the West, (World War II worries?), look at all the folks there to intervene! Wonderful!

In Utah, there are over 44,000 concealed weapons permit holders! A total estimated at about 132,000 armed citizens.....counting the legal and illegally carrying folks! There is only about 2 millions citizens in Utah. What's wrong with the percentages here? It would be about 6 1/2 percent of the citizens packin' in Utah, while the Kalifornicators would have about .0005 percent!!! Yep, we are safe from invasion!

Your right, not near enough folks, carry...

I have a background on my computer at work that says it all..
It's an Eagle overlooking a building and parking area and the caption says: AMERICA'S SECURITY: It's in our hands...

Ranchero.....First of all, I've got to take exception to your premise that Kalifornicate has a lot of "fine folk a-packin'"
A LARGE number of those folk are influential politicos and other wealthy Democraps that got their CCW's because of who they are.
The great majority of the "fine folk" are not allowed to protect themselves.

You're Right, Mudge! I know that the Politicos and the Celebs are the ones with the guns in Kalifornicate. I was being snide with my remark. Unfortunately, the average person is screwed and without protection.

Another interesting fact, Texas has over 200,000 carry permits issued to their citizens.......what does this mean?

You "Texicans" can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that translates to "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS"!!!

I'd wager that the majority of the ones carrying ilegally in California are nothing but a bunch of two bit thugs looking to cause problems. Nothing but a bunch of gangbangers in my opinion. I'm sure there are a few good folks down there that really want to protect themselves...but the majority I would say are nothing but a menace.

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I didn't get really interested in guns until the last few years I lived in California but once I became interested I started buying a little more often, and going to the Target Range out at Gun World, and shopping at the big stores like King's and B&B. Pretty soon it seemed like you were getting robbed at the ATMs and they wouldn't let anybody but the muggers carry. So I admit I carried while walking my dog at night "from time to time." I'm much happier here in Indiana where I can have a CCW legally simply for the reason of, as the statute puts it, "defense of myself."

If I ever go back to KA, you can bet I'll move heaven and earth to be one of the "privileged few." I don't care how tough they make the red tape, I'll walk the gauntlet for the right to carry.

I wish more state were like us here in the Hoosier state. I do not have the latest figures but the last I had, which were from 1994 and any year before, the State showed 30-50% of those elgible for carry licenses had them and that on any given day one out of every five people had a legally carried handgun. Figures might be less today, but I know these used to be accurate.
