308 and british 308

whats the diference between a 308 and british 308 or are they the same. the reason i ask is that i kind like the enfields and wanna what they shoot.

    It is the same. Some of the weapons were made over here and were chambered for the 308.

    The british used both. The 308 (7.62 NATO) most recently, Their older weapons were in 303 British (a rimmed cartridge)
    It was (is) a fairly easy job for a arsonal to convert a rifle (new barrel and boltface.
    If it has been converted it should be clearly marked as such.

    Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

    Most of the British 308 Enfields were made in Ishapore. The ones from England were conversions. A 303 converted can be questionable depending upon what they did to the reciever. The Ishapore 308 had a reciever designed for the 308. Many 308 conversions can be questionable unless converted from a .30-06, not normally any question there.

    I have a pair of the Ishapore 308 Enfields.

    The second admendment GUARANTEES the other nine and the Constitution!
