So I decided never again to go to the gun shop that I usually go to. I went in today because I need to have a gun shipped to me. Well I guess I should start two weeks ago. I bought a gun on GB and needed an FFL to send it to, I called the guy I usually buy from and asked him to send an FFL for me, well its been two weeks and still no gun(I think he forgot to send it) I've called him twice to see if there was any progress No luck. The co. I bought from still hasn't received an FFL. So I went in today because I have another gun that needs to be shipped to me, I asked if I could get a coupla copies of his FFL's to send and he flipped out. started ranting about it being illegal to give me a copy. He asked why I needed another FFL and I said I bought another gun. He was obviously not happy because I didn't buy it from him. In the time I have known this guy I haven't had any real contact with him just "Hi, I need this or that" but now that I know he's a jerk he won't get my business and I will pass along word of mouth not to frequent his establishment.
After a few hours and four other gun shops I think I found one I am going to like, but one out of five isn't that good of odds! What happened to people who appreciated your business?

I myself have had the same problems. I have also shelled out 50.00 for a ffl transfer fees. I am no longer buying guns online, only at major retailers, sorry GB. With the shipping, and ffl fees, its cheaper to buy local. I think there should be a set limit on ffl fees. Why can they charge whatever they like?

    mkirkland:
I hope you've found a shop that'll treat you right.
I've never purchased a gun online and had to ask for my gun dealer to do the paperwork, however he has helped me ship some pistols that I sold that had to go FFL to FFL.
My dealer did order a SAR-2 from Classic Arms and he charged me 15%. He doesn't like the "assault" rifles and doesn't usually keep them them in stock. Claims they make good doorstops. His idea of a high capacity weapon is his 30-30 Winchester, 9 rounds,HA.

    I wish you luck!!

Begin to get the drift of why so many dealers supported the fedgov passing ever more stringent laws to restrict dealers ? They now, with 75,000 left, are sitting in the catbird's seat, don't you think ?
So how about buying only from individuals...and letting the dealers go broke ? 200 million firearms in this country..we can trade firearms till he** freezes over..then pretty soon, when everybody tires of that..we tell the fedgov to get out of our business ??

    God,Guts,& GunsHave we lost all 3 ??
