Sorry to hear that. Ohio has a similar bill going through right now. I got my fingers crossed for a no vote...

Suspension, Ohio is denying same sex marriages, my newspaper said today Taft is signing it into law. The gay marriage bill is dead, brought up by Dems, the minority for now.
Ohio, the we just said no to gay marriages state.
Things are looking up, first CCW now this
Might not be all that bad around here after all.

When Kalifornia craps, it floats to the surface in Boston. Massholia is even worse than the Left Coast . . . and that's what I say in G mode.

From what I read, the legislature came up with a "civil union" law, and the courts said "no dice" on that.
What I find most amazing, is that even in Massachusettes, the majority is completely against homosexual marriage. Even more important, the legislature and the governor are opposed to gay marriage? So why doesnt Massachusettes just ignore the court ruling? Why are they bending over to allow a few judges to exert their will on the people?

I just got my ministerial license from Mass for weddings.[:0] I may be a bit confused in what to say: "I now pronounce you man and husband or husband and husband or woman and woman or wife and wife", NOT![:(]

A sad state of affairs in deed.

Well if they allow same sex marriage, then they will have to allow
consenting adults who would like to marry more than one person
or perhaps a consensual couple that would like to marry his
sister. What is the difference. That is the concern that scares me.

Sooo you are not at all concerned about the homosexuals marryingeach other, but are more concerned about brothers and sisters marrying, or polygamy, etc. Ohhh never mind. I forgot you were Candian, you love your same sex marriages.

A question to add to the mix:

Why is it illegal for a man to be married to more than one woman but legal for a man to live as life-partners with more than one woman and have children with more than one woman without being married?

With a marriage contract comes financial responsibility for which is punishable by law if a man has more than one wife but without a marriage contract a man living with more than one woman as life-partners there are no fiducial responsiblities and perfectly legal.

I think I can read just fine. Homosexual marriage does not concern you, what you think it will lead to is the concern that scares you.
