Where was I?

OK, I'm on vacation last weekend. Surprised to see that my college was playing the local one. We were a 7 point favorite. What the heck, I put down $20. Watching the game on TV and having an ice tea, or something, we are up 27-7 with just under 8 min. to go in the game. I'm already thinking about just what I could do with 20 $1's. Then as if my magic, the lights go out. The game never resumes. All bets are off. Where was I? Coiencidence? I don't think so!

I'd fallen asleep while watching (Spanish speaking) TV in my hotel room while in Buenous Aires, Argentina about a year ago.....woke up about 3am and heard someone speaking in English, it turned out to be an NFL Football game with the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburg Steelers...still a little groggy, thought I was in the twilight zone, they were showing Tom Landry on the side lines and Terry Bradshaw was quarterback.....turned out to be one of ESPN's "Classic" football replays....weird.......

When I was nine,I fell asleep
with a Baby Ben alarm clock
    under my pillow.

I dreamed I was in school,
    and the teacher was trying
    to tell me something...

    All that came out of
    her mouth was:

    tic,tic,tic,tic,tic,tic,tic,tic,tic

27-7 . . . ??!! What game was this? Geriatric University's Blue Walruses vs. Mt. Senility College Dribblers? The elementary school team (1st - 3rd grades) I coached would put up higher numbers. The lights went out before the players could die of embarassment, man.

A few weeks ago I pulled out an Army manual to read up on my homework. I had been up since 4am (as usual) and was very tired. I fell asleep in my chair and woke to the phone ringing. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 8:30. I thought it was morning since there was still plenty of light streaming through my windows. A sense of fear overcame me. I had missed PT formation, breakfast formation and formation for movement to the classroom building. The phone kept ringing while I attempted to jump into an unpressed uniform. Then I figured I'd give up on the uniform since I had already done enough damage to get kicked out of the school. I saw my rank disappearing in my imagination and I picked up the phone. Still in my sleepy stupor I asked my female friend on the other end of the line, "What happened!?!?!" She was obviously confused, calmed me down and pointed out that it was 2030 hours....not 0830 hours. Us smokers can't handle jolts like that!

Bee, please don't call me sir. I feel old enough as it is! Guys, I went to school at WI. I was in Vegas. No sh*t, the lights went out just after 8 min to go, and all bets were off. What can I say.

The similar thing happened to me around 8 years ago. I was a Cesaer's watching the Whittaker / Duran fight. Duran was a 9:1 favorite. I put $100. on Whit. Whit won every round. The fight was called a draw. The croud of 2-3K got so piss*ed that they were throwing beer bottles at the big screens (this was a live TV feed). I was too small and too old (even then) and got the h*ll out. Sports, and I use the tern loosely with boxing, is just going down the tubes because of all the big money involved.
