Looks like a Hunter model that has been modified. They were made without the pistol grip, thus the trigger was made longer so that it could be reached using the regular rifle stock. Looks like yours has been modified and someone put on a pistol grip. The Hunter model are real easy to turn into Galil clones, albeit in 7.62x39.

I recognize the receiver as from a Norinco Hunter rifle.
Looks like Bubba got a hold of it and hacked it up.

Here is an auction of a nicer one.

That makes a good candidate for the Galil looking project.
A regular trigger can be installed so you can put a normal looking pistol grip and stock on it.

Buy the last 3 inches of a Galil receiver from a guy up in Canada (search for Ontgun on the web) and have the rear of the Hunter receiver squared off and the section welded in place.

Then put a Galil receiver cover, gas tube, and buttstock added, plus Galil handguard and handguard holder. Replace the gas block with a Galil gas block/front sight group, and weld (had to at the time) a fake flash hider onto the muzzle. New Galil-type pistol grip came from ACE riflestocks.

Replace the trigger guard and mag catch release, makes it look a little more authentic.

I just heated up the charging handle on the original bolt carrier, and turned it up 90 degrees. After it cooled down, I ground the end so that I could mount a Galil charging knob on the end and had it tack-welded in place.

Then sand-blast and coat the whole thing.

Hey, even ugly guns need love! In a couple of years even the ugly ones might be worth a bunch.
