Before you buy mixed lowers / uppers... There's a few things you should know.
While AR15 lowers / uppers are pretty much interchangeable, the AR10 platform isn't.
The DPMS format has pretty much become the standard, but even the DPMS format has variances depending on the manufacturer.
Here's a couple of "side by side" pics to illustrate:
DPMS versus Armalite
Within the DPMS 'format' the Tang thickness is even different.
Moral of this story... Don't mix AR10 formats or mix manufacturers.
Be sure that you buy matching lowers / uppers from the same manufacturer.
AND for maximum accessory compatibility, make sure you're using a DPMS format.
Another thing I've learned (the hard way), is that while the trigger group and pins are the same between the AR10 and the AR15,
The pivot pins aren't. The AR 10 pins are slightly larger than the AR15.
You'll need an AR10 lower build kit (with or without a trigger group).
You can then use your favorite trigger group.
One caveat with trigger groups: The 'experts' claim that you need a larger hammer mass due to 'hardened primers'. I'm not sure if this is true or not. But I'm not gonna test the waters.
i.e.;
AR15 trigger 'hammer' style:
AR10 trigger 'hammer' style. Note the larger hammer 'head':

As many of us graduate from assembling AR15?s to AR 10?s , this should be made a sticky.
Need a "sticky forum" limited to IMPORTANT "gun information".
That sure would save a lot of time searching!

I was aware of this going in... I went down the PSA road and got a complete lower for $150 delivered... Now searching for an upper for it...

Select, are you confirming the match?
I want a 7mm-08 and a 6.5 creedmoor to go on it... Will be working on that...
I've got the 308 and the 6.5 Creedmoor.
The 7mm-08 would be a good third.
