I would make it but it looks like I'm not going to get cut loose from work until late Saturday afternoon (5 or 6pm). I'm trying to round up a buddy to go to the gun show on Sunday though provided that my shooting buddy is willing to go to the show instead of shooting clays with me. If so, we'll be there when the doors open Sunday morning. I'm pretty much counting on not being able to attend Saturday night

    Idsman,
Sorry to hear you'll miss the dinner....think I'll take a couple of gun stocks down to have autographed. I'll probably be down again Sunday, hope to see you there.

Sir Rembrandt--I haven't completely written off the dinner yet. If tickets can be purchased at the door and I can make it then I certainly will try. If I make it out of work by 2:30 tomorrow afternoon I will make the drive tomorrow. If tickets can't be purchased at the door then I will just crash at a hotel out there somewhere. I've stayed in Des Moines quite a bit in the last year. That way I won't have to wake up at 4:30am on Sunday to make it to Des Moines by the time the doors open up.

I'll make sure there is a ticket waiting at the door for you whether you can make it or not...

Sir Rembrandt--Now there's a good fellow! I absolutely appreciate the opportunity (and previous opportunities). I wonder if the guy with the nuts will be at the gun show again. They sure were tasty last time.

What I wouldn't do to have the stock of my favorite shotgun autographed by the man himself!

How I would absolutely love to be there!!!! Please...if
they sell a copy of his speach if he makes it, would you
transcribe it here, and share it with us? I really respect
Charlsten as a good man! I also think he is an incredible
actor. If I was anything but a nurse, I'd call in sick.
Got to give my patients the best thou. Have a great
time, all who are going. Des Moines is only 2 1/2 hr drive
for me. Darn! Wish I'd of known 2 weeks ago.

The gun show was just as good as all Des Moines shows have been in the past. It was good to see some of the political friends of the 2nd Ammendment there and it was great to see Mr. Heston for the first time. It was also good to have a little more time to chat with lrarmsx again.
