Whats the scoop with Colt?
I have a 1911 style .22 on my list so needless to say a Sig 1911-22 caught my eye yesterday at the fun store. But after a little looking I say that they were recalled but didnt see why.
Im not crazy about a conversion kit.
The Sig looks good price is good but unsure about recall.
Colt ???
Kimber is Kimber but comes with a Kimber price tag.

Been looking at the Umarex Colt 1911 .22 and the GSG 1911 .22 both are pretty reasonable in terms of cost. Does anyone have any experience with either or both that could be helpful in making a choice between the two .... or neither if they are both junk?

I have the Colt/Umarex pistol. It's a fun gun to shoot, and, to date, I have had no problems with function or accuracy.

I bought the GSG last year, been shooting the heck out of it. BIL has had so much fun with it he bought one too. They are really reliable, shoot everything, pretty accurate.

    Well, I'm right back where I started.[:D]
Good to know however, that they are both ok.

I bought my son a GSG 1911 a couple years ago for his 21st B-day. He has been very happy with it. Feeds everything and is about as accurate as you would expect.

Another possible idea is a conversion kit for a 1911 if you already own one is a Marvel Conversion Kit. I have one and have mounted it on several different frames. On each one it will shoot under 1 inch at 25 meters.

    Just a thought

Love my GSG. If you have a can, the muzzle is threaded and has a nice protector on it. Takes lots of standard 1911 parts. I've had mine for a year, have put 5 or 6 thousand thru it, and eats any bulk I've fed it - Fed 550, Win 555, Rem GB, CCI Blazer.

Not as accurate as my Ruger Mk II, but more fun to shoot.

The SIG is made by GSG... But has a little better fit and finish IMO.

Wow, the Sig looks really nice. I can't believe the difference in weight between the three.

    Umarex 2.25 lbs

    GSG 2.14 lbs

    Sig 18 oz.

Wonder why the Sig weighs less than half of the other two?

I bought a low cost Rock Island 9mm 1911 and mounted an Advantage Arms conversion kit. Perfect fit works great has last shot hold open.

Low cost 9mm and low cost .22 = best of both worlds.

The AA kit works great on my Ruger SR1911 as well.

For a low cost shooter... Not a bad low cost idea. [;)]
