Did the show in St. Pete last weekend. Was situated in an alcove about 20ft by 20ft,with just me and another guy. While I was only selling off some of my shotguns, hunting rifles and so on,this other guy was sellin` gas masks and all kinds of stuff, and tellin` people about bio warfare` and I had to hear this crap over and over for two days.He was telling people that the hijackers had likely infected themselves with BIO before they boarded the planes. And that they contaminated the passengers, and now under all the rubble rats are eating from contaminated bodies, and will spread it throughout NY,and beyond. We know that such a thing didn`t happen, because such a problem would have shown itself right away. All those people working in the rescue/cleanup effort would have been contaminated immediately.Folks,I`m sorry to bring up such a disgusting thing, but the ol` boy musta got to me.

Sounds like a pretty desperate salesman to use a line like that.....were people buying it?

There probably aren't many bodies for the rats to eat--especially those of the hijackers themselves.A lot of those missing, are nothing but ashes now.

Rem.,enough of them were buying it,I`m not sure how much he sold, but a guy with a slight NY accent came up to me and asked if I had gas masks,I just pointed to the other guy.He paid $400.for 4 of them, likely for his his wife ,himself and two kids.I can see the guy now, running drills at home ,seeing how fast his wife and kids can gear up.How sad.

With a good marketing plan I suppose you could sell anything for almost any price....BeeKeep, you need to get some of those cheap white paper dust masks and write on them "Fart Protectors", then sell them for $5 each....wouldn't be any more ridiculous than what this fellow tried.

I'm surprised that guy was the only one selling stuff like that! Some jerks will always take advantage of others when it will make them a quick buck. I'm waiting for some guy to knock on my door and try to sell me a bomb shelter. 218, Did ya do good at the gun show?

One thing to remember is that even if the passengers were infected, fire from the explosion would have destroyed the bio weapons. Jet fuel burns at a very high temperature, hot enough to melt and weaken the steel structure of the tower. I've heard reports from, allegeded, experts on the structural integrity of the buildings. They stated that it was not the impact from the planes that brought the buildings down but instead it was the heat from the jet fuel burning that caused the beams and girders to weaken and collapse. Beams closest to the plane were actually melted to the point that the weight above the impact area was too great which is when the domino theory took effect. Each floor landing on top of the floor below it causing too much weight for the lower floors to be able to support itself and the added weight, thus sending on down to the next floor until there was nothing left.

218, Yea good old N.C. is getting it's fair share of them there yankees too. Last winter after some snow fell this yankee fellow I work with asked me when the F*****g slurpy machine was gonna run. I just stared at him till he walked off, It took me two days to figure out that he had politely asked me when the snow plows were gonna run.

Jeeze, shane, you mean to tell me NC *has* plows now? When I was there, they closed the Interstates when there was an inch of snow. Had a big run-in with a trooper who didn't think I should run my ve-hi-cle on that dangerous surface (seeing how much trouble he had coming onto the hwy to stop me, I could understand his concern . . . LOL). He finally let me go when I showed him the snow tires, the NH license & explained, very politely, that we didn't pay a whole hell of a lot of attention to the stuff until it was up to the bumper. Only snow equipment I ever saw (once) was a sand truck: pickup going down the street w/ two guys shoveling sand out. Blew me away. But y'all got even in the summers . . . my Yankee rig didn't need no A/C . . . hah! I musta left 2,000 gallons of sweat behind me when I left. Still & all, if my system could stand the heat, I'd enjoy living there. Nice country & even nicer people.

Hey Bee, I'm a commercial painting contractor near Chicago. It's slightly one step up from the homeless, and one step down from the mafia.A-100, 6-70, Purdy, Speed-Flo, and Graco rules!

Yea we got plows now but don't use them very much. We've got somthing else I bet you never saw before. Our ski slopes have to use machines to make snow. That yankee feller I work with was amazed by the fact that you could ski off the top of a mountain in the snow and then drive 40 miles, put on shorts and sweat the rest of the day. I don't think he wants to move back up north now that he has lived here for a while. I've even got him saying ya'll.

Seems like that movin' accross the Mason-Dixon line has been working both ways lately....I remember Hilliary coming up north and putting on a "Yankee" baseball cap....sure she was just trying to fit in.

Well, as I see it, a coke is any type of soda. Just have to say what kind. And I had a funny time in Alaska with this one guy. I'm a yankee and I know how to ski and stuff, so I get this new guy in. Turns out he's right off the boat from Haiti. Never even heard of snow or cold. Took me 2 1/2 years to teach him to ski. I think he's a big reason why I can't seem to find my hair. It all seems to have fallen off somewhere.

Guys, I was talking with a buddy of mine today who is a surplus dealer. He sold out of gas masks and filters a week ago. The last few he had he put up on eBay, and they went for over $100 apiece ($20 Israeli masks). He also says that they are going on eBAy for $150 now, although I haven't looked myself. Also going like wildfire is 7.62x39 by the case, which he says he sold out, got a new shipment, sold out again, and now can't get. At the last show he did, he said another dealer was selling the charcoal lined suits like crazy, even made a 600 mile round trip overnight to his store to bring back more for Sunday.Glad I was a Boy Scout, and have what I need safely tucked away already.
