Is this woman really this stupid? I bet all democrats would like to suspend elections for a couple years or maybe even permeant.
Speaking to a Cary Rotary Club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on economic recovery and not the next election.
"I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that," Perdue said. "You want people who don't worry about the next election."
The comment -- which came during a discussion of the economy -- perked more than a few ears. It's unclear whether Perdue, a Democrat, is serious -- but her tone was level and she asked others to support her on the idea.
Later Tuesday afternoon, Perdue's office clarified the remarks: "Come on," said spokeswoman Chris Mackey in a statement. "Gov. Perdue was obviously using hyperbole to highlight what we can all agree is a serious problem: Washington politicians who focus on their own election instead of whatOs best for the people they serve."
The Republicans sure are taking it seriously as they look to score political points. Here's a statement from GOP spokesman Rob Lockwood:
ONow is a time when politicians need to be held accountable more than ever. To suspend an election would be removing the surest mechanism that people have to hold politicians accountable: the right to vote. Does the Governor not believe that people of North Carolina have the ability to think for themselves about whether or not the actions of elected officials are working?

I thought you moved in order to take advantage of the better weather..
I moved just over the state line about 6 miles from Charlotte. not alot of weather difference here. LOL
I thought you moved in order to take advantage of the better weather..
Nah. It's because Nikki Haley is hotter than Bev Perdue.
Would that be a mistake?
Perdue is no better and knows with Republicans in charge of both branches the Dummos can't have their way as in the past. I'm hoping we can have all three branches soon and get something done for the good, not just the Libs.
Asheville is one of the places I'm considering when I retire.
Would that be a mistake?
Asheville is where I plan to retire also. Beautiful Mountains, cool summers and winters not real bad. I am only about 2 hours from there and make it up there on the scooter several times a year.
I read a few months after the illegal alien, Osama Obama, was elected that one of the strategies of his regime was to suspend elections so that he would stay in power indefinitly.
There have been a few of these out-of-left-field remarks fielded to test the waters for a public response.
Look for more of this suspension of the Consitution to pop up. As Obama's appeal wanes further, more of his outrageous illegal activities come to light and his administration starts stinking like rotten fruit, his bunch will attempt to sieze control of this country by martial law, calling it a "national security emergency." Civil Rights will be put "on hold", elections suspended, access to information curtailed, the Internet and telephone communications limited, travel within and outside the country limited and rationing of fuel and food will take place. All this will be administered by FEMA, which will hire throngs of inner city types to do the work. Outspoken critics will be charged with incredible crimes and arrested, others will simply disappear, etc. Kristallnacht on a grand scale.
Watch for it.
If our elected officials did what they were elected to do they wouldn't have to worry about getting re-elected. [}:)]
Amen to that!
l will take Bev ANY day over that Half-bred Dot Head Niki Haley [:(!]
A little racist are you?
You apparently do not like a Governor that brings jobs to the state. A governor who whole heartily supports the 2nd and I quote:
"Few things are as clearly defined as the right of individual Americans to own and use firearms. The right to bear arms was deemed so critical by our Founders that they spelled it out in absolute terms, and it is my belief that any governmental action that undermines that right is in turn undermining the very freedoms that built our great nation. I hold a Concealed Weapons Permit myself, and in this state we have issues that make it difficult for CWP holders to rightfully carry D we need to make the rules that govern carrying far more simple. As governor, I will continue to fight against any government infringement on the 2nd Amendment."
What a Pistol packing Governor? Does Bev carry?
She is far from being perfect but you will never hear her try to talk the government into not having an election.
Have you not heard about all the illegals leaving SC because of new laws recently passed?
"COLUMBIA, S.C. ? Gov. Nikki Haley signed changes into law on Monday that grant more power to police to check whether people are illegal immigrants, a move expected to face legal challenges after similar measures met with lawsuits in other states.
The changes in law require police in South Carolina to call federal immigration officials if someone is suspected of being in the country illegally. And it creates a new police force to enforce a law that would also make it a felony to make fake photographic identification for illegal immigrants. People convicted of that felony could face $25,000 fines and five years in prison.
The changes tighten what already were some of the nationOs toughest measures to curb illegal immigrants living and working here."
Thats OK we will send all those illegals up to NC where your governor is weak on illegals. you can keep them. My governor wants the people in SC to have jobs. Ole Bev talks tough about illegals but does nothing about it. So you just go on and keep ole Bev up there in NC.[:D]

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nikki is smokin hot
Democrats are always in favor of skipping elections... when they hold office. They are despotic tyrants beneath the surface.
Too old to live...too young to die...
