Two of my undeniable truths of life...

Being illustrated right here. Fixed sight handguns almost always shoot to the left for me...and if I do manage to get a good group going there will be one shot that goes wide and opens it up.

Took all three of my SAAs to the range for a short stint today (between rain showers) and the above target was the best of the lot. My usual sad shooting performance. I used to be a mediocre marksman, but as I have aged my eyes and shaky hands betray me. Oh well, at least the guns looked good even if I didn't.

There is a good example, that money can't make you a marksman.

But you can practice in style.

Oh, and afford ammo, which can help make you better. So while money can't make you a marksman and can help you improve with practice.

Looks like you are pushing the trigger. Trigger finger not far enough onto the trigger.

According to this you are heeling the pistol if this is happening to all fixed sight pistols you shoot.

Doc, if you were aiming at the edge of his left shirt pocket you just put 6 through the sternum. I think that would work.

Make sure your trigger finger is on the trigger slightly past the pad towards the knuckle. Once you teach yourself to PULL straight back without side pressure your groups will come back centered.

I had a heck of a time getting it right when shooting bullseye. It took me a year to get it right consistently.

Nice looking trio you have there.

Almost every open-sighted rifle and pistol I've ever had, with every position, gripping style, and trigger pull technique - shot to the left. I've had to conclude that not everyone sees sights the same way. If I can re-regulate fixed revolver sights to strike no more than 5 MOA left, I call that good enough. That's about an inch and a half at 30 yards. Guns with windage-adjustible sights, which covers most guns, are not problematic.

After a long morning of mostly .22LR, .223 and some .38 Special, got out the 1911. At 25 yards the pattern was a narrow line of nine holes from the top of the target, thru the center bull, to the bottom of the sheet.

A clear indication that we were past due time to go to lunch at that BBQ joint we passed on the way out to our shoot'n spot.

Doc, I also shoot left with any handgun. Took me a while to correct this problem, but reverted back to it with my new Kimber. I am pushing my shots by putting to little of my index finger on the trigger. I am going to work on it again tomorrow. Oakie

Looks like a fuunnn day on the range. Very nice side arms! Do you have holsters for any, do you use them on those fine Pistols?
