Well, not literally.
Really worried the past two months that I might be out of my job at the end of August. If I didn't get fired I was assured that I was looking at a 25-30% reduction in salary.
Haven't officially signed the contract yet my work load is scheduled and I am not even looking at any pay cuts at the present time. Might happen later but I take one day at a time and be grateful for what I have and worry later about things that are...well, later.
Need 3 more years then seriously thinking about the big R word. I will be 65 and eligible for Medicare so won't need health insurance from employer. Will have house paid off and that will relieve some financial pressure. At 65 Social Security draw will be better and my retirement fund will get padded a bit. Now at the point where there's enough to earn serious growth.
Can't believe I'm thinking it. What happened? Where did the time go?
My first summer in retirement I may take the Harley to Sturgis.

Well, what else would you take?
If you were born in 1955, full retirement age is two months after your 66th birthday. You can still take early retirement at age 62, but your benefits would be approximately 75% of the amount they would be at full retirement age.
Also if you have income other than Social Security, your SS retirement bennies may be subject to income tax. They do not withhold taxes unless you ask. If you start drawing SS before your full retirement age, there is an annual cap on your earnings. Exceed the cap and start losing SS payments.
