My computer died yesterday. It's in the hands of the technician today and I hope he can resuscitate it. But in the meantime I am reduced 2 using my tablet to go online.

Be sure to use fingers or a stylus on the tablet, not a hammer and chisel!

It's always best to have a backup. Whether it be a USB memory stick, a second computer, or an extra girlfriend. So I've been told.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

I know the feeling, Doc. My laptop cooked off not too long ago, so a buddy lent me a tablet to use for the time being. Didn't take long to realize how much I use the internet after all.

It is annoying when the modern conveniences crap out. Mine took a nosedive a couple weeks ago. Old as it was, I decided it was time for a new one.

I had been thinking my InterWeb connection was slow. Turned out it was the old 'puter. [^]

I was just reading that lap top and desk set computer sales are down for the 5th year in a row.

Replaced by the I phones and hand held stuff I would guess.

The future for lap tops (which is all I use) just may be like VHS tapes and VCR recorder\players.[:(]

If so, I for one will just have to go back to the days before the internet and all of this world at my finger tips stuff.

I admit that the internet has me in it's talon's but have sworn to NEVER become one of those hand held I phone zombies!

I firmly believe it is better to actually talk to a real person over texting (which is a skill I do not possess)

Got it back today good as new. No mechanical issues just 153 viruses that had invaded it. He ran a couple of AVG programs and cleaned it up.

I'll have to get him a thank you card and a gift card for dinner somewhere(he works on my computer for free).
