Winchester 1894 with long octagon barrel

I have a Winchester 1894 with Takedown long octagon barrel made in 1010 and has no finish lift on it would it take away from what it is worth if i reblue it?

    If you have a Winchester that's nearly a thousand years old, I'd leave it as is! [;)]

    Seriously,I assume you meant 1910 and if you reblue it, you can probably deduct at least 50% from its current value.

    Yes, refinishing removes half or more of the value.

    Based on what I see in the auctions (I have been looking for a gun like this for a while) I would guess $600 - $1,200. Maybe more for the take-down feature.

    Reblued it becomes a $400-$500 gun.
