Why is Goss Resign ?

I heard today there is speculation that Goss himself was behind the leaking of recent classified info by the CIA regarding secret prisons and wire tapping. If this is true then he needs to be hung.

Unfortunately, there is going to be a lot of speculation on why he "resigned".

He probably had to resign because his views on securing the border against the mexican invaders was not shared by Dr.Bush. -[:0]-

This is news and it will break within the next month. And then we'll know what happened. For now, it's kind of fun just to wonder.....maybe.....or maybe.... or maybe....but try to remember that until the truth breaks, all of that other stuff is just a bit of fun.

Just speculation but I think Goss grew weary of butting heads with the CIA establishment, those career officers and administrators who resist change and resent outsiders. It wasn't Goss leaking, it was his enemies within the agency leaking to hurt him and the Bush administration. Goss has been at war with his own people in the agency since the day he arrived because they didn't like him.

On what basis do you make this statement? From an ignorance of Nixon and his use of the Plumbers?

Hairy, it's so bad that I realized that I needed to edit out my comments. You just don't understand how bad it is and what it's like around here. Nixon was a sweetheart by comparison. And I am well aware of the Nixon years. I was there. Sorry you're still angry but trust me, he wasn't as bad. Not even close. Not on this issue.

Well, I'm still po'ed about being dragged into Nixon's political games myself. I doubt if any other President used his office to try to destroy people as did Nixon. He even had J. Edgar Hoover helping him along.

SaxonPig: Well, you were in high school during the Nixon years while I was being put under surveillance, polygraphed, and a smear campaign was initiated and then stopped.

Pat Buchanan was on MSNBC speculating that Goss was pushed out behind the scenes because he couldn't get along with some of Bush's intelligence advisors and other members of the Bush Admin. They forced Goss out so they could replace him with a crony who will tow the party line and not make waves and do as he's told by the Bush Administration without question.

I also find it interesting that the guy they want to replace Goss was the guy who was behind the domesting spy...err I mean warrantless wiretapping program. So long Constitutional Rights, hello Secret Police. Thank you King George for further eroding our Bill of Rights!

There is some speculation that Goss was involved in the Duke Cunningham/hookers in the Watergate scandal. We shall see.

I graduated in 1973 so I was in my 1st or 2nd year of college when Nixon was forced to resign.

Why were you under such intense scrutiny and why was it stopped?
