Help with Id of older S&W

I was given a older S&W 38 special. I need help identifying the model number and aprox. value. I have no use for it and plan on selling I just have no idea what it's worth. The blue on the barrel is in pretty rough shape but mechanically it's great.

the grips are not original to the gun
Post the serial # and you'll get better info

Some of us had to find out the hard way.
I shot an older Smith like that one and cracked the cylinder.
PS: S&W didn't temper the cylinders until around serial 165,000 so I don't care to shoot guns of this vintage.
