I am considering an addition to my auction based on the many emails and phone calls. I wanted to run it by you guys to see what you think before I put it into the add;
I have received a lot of calls and emails regarding the condition of this pistol. I totally understand given that most guns like this show at least some wear. This gun is pristine. the very light line on the cylinder is the only flaw. though you may find tiny marks on high edges from being in the box this long.
Also it is completly original. It has never been reblued or refinished in any way, all numbers match and no screws have been turned. It is a true survivor.
I usually do not accept returns on handguns but on this one I will offer a 1 day right of refusal based on the following conditions;
you open the box in front of your FFL and inspect it. the gun does not leave the store, no firing it and no changing parts or dissasembly. If you find it is not as decribed put it back in the same box and return it to me. I will refund the purchase price provided it arrives as it left.
Before we go thru that nightmare scenario, call me,write me, text me... I can provide more pictures and if you call, I will go over it from muzzle to butt.
I want you to know what you are buying and be completely satisfied when it arrives. It is too bad my camera doesn't take better pictures because once you see this gun in person you will be very happy with your purchase decisionthis gun would be the topper for most Smith collections. One other note. there are no tools or manuals and the wax paper is Smith and wesson factory wrap but looks like a later version. Thanks again and good luck.feel free to edit it so it makes more sense. Thanks for your help

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I looked at your auction, and I wouldn't add another word.
anyway, thanks for the advise
thanks, I wil let it go the way it is. I can always change it if it doesn't reach reserve. I get wht you were sying about too much information in an add and I do need a better camera or better lighting or something. sometimes the pictures come out so clear and clean (like Kaseys) and other times they just seem fuzzy.
anyway, thanks for the advise
everyone one of my sales is "as is"...no way I am letting a gun out of my hands without payment, and once its gone..its gone. You have no idea what someone might do to it.
The Patridge front sight was designed by and named for a man named Patridge.
A partridge is a bird.
Nice gun. Late 1954 or early 1955. The 6" barrel is most common and hurts value.
I think $1,200 is about tops but others may offer more.

I tell them to read my feedback and all is well
I wish I had the cash, the S & W 29-2 would be mine.
I would love to see you have it. maybe we could work out a lay-away?
It's Patridge not partridge.

thanks for trying to tear me down, or use your expertize to discourage others from bidding beyond 1200 because thats all a guy like you might pay ....thankfully there are others who recognize the rare condition of this gun and that is more important to them than the barrel length of a gun they will never fire.(or at least not carry) Thankfully, it has already bid to 1400 and I should use spell check more often (or less, I think I wrote patridge and it auto corrected to partridge.
kink of like when I write bleen you and the computer changes it to bleen you [}:)]
I have never seen a pre 27 in this condition. it is almost perfect, never carried or holstered. and for such a common gun why is mine the only 6 inch on on gunbroker? and, by far, the nicest of any listed....
I hardly think my opinion will dissuade bidders (most of whom never visit the forums).
I said it was worth $1,200 to me. That should be meaningless to anyone else who is interested (as I stated).
I said it was nice. It is nice.
Everything else was simply statements of fact (barrel length, etc.).
I wasn't trying to "tear you down." Why would I want to do that? And don't you think I could have done a better job if I had? I asked about the hand-written serial to help you. If it's there that means the box is original to the gun and that's a big plus with serious collectors and I wanted you to know about it. Sorry, I'll keep my comments to myself from now on.
Good luck with the auction and have a nice day.

Well, excuse me. I though you posted an open message on a discussion forum seeking honest opinions. I was mistaken. Next time let us know you only want suck-up comments.

YOu're right. I was wrong to say those things to you .[B)]
I apologise.[:I] I wasn't even upset about what you wrote, I appreciate it.
I was upset by another person who wrote me who had no idea what they were talking about and I transfered that frustration toward you. Again, I am sorry for my attitude.
There ya go diver.
Looks like it's doing well so far. Three different bidders working on it and that's a good sign.
