Ruger MKIII and Thunderbolt .22LR

I just purchased a Ruger MKIII4 with the 4.75" barrel and shot 300 rounds of inexpensive Remington Thunderbolt .22LR and 100 rounds of the ever-popular bulk inexpensive Federal .22LR all in one range session. The gun is as solid as a rock and truly smooth as silk to shoot. I opted to fire the pistol rapidly to see how the gun's internals perform and also how well the ammo would feed, fire and eject. Aside from a dozen or so feed problems and jams with the individual Thunderbolt ammo that had a scuff or nick in the soft lead nose, it did well overall. Accuracy was remarkably good and I was surprised. The Federal with the harder nose fed better and accuracy was also very good. This particular pistol seemed to gobble up whatever I fed to it. Next trip to the range will include testing the higher-end CCI ammo in it. I'm very pleased with my purchase and I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a solid, reliable and reasonably priced .22LR pistol. Also, the little sliding button on the left side of the Ruger's magazine makes loading it fast and easy.
