This was over by Watseka. It's probably made it to all the JD dealers and most of the IH by now.

There was a 48 row planter buried by Streator. It almost makes me wish went out and took a picture of that.

Um[?] Since the soil isn't turned yet. Wouldn't that be a plow? Unless its a plow, disk and planter all in one. Not good enough pics to determine. I do know however the tires are doing a fine job of turning the soil over.

Looks like about a six digit # stuck to me.

Just cause the soil isn't tilled doesn't mean he couldn't be planting. With No-till you don't disturb the residue on the surface. Looking at that pic though, it appears to be so type a soil conditioner, probably a chisel plow and some type of leveler combo.

Six digit stuck is right, est cost of that tractor $150,000 or more and several ten thousand for the implement.

I wonder if he would be stuck is he had the treads on.

You see a lot of JD around here with treads on. Not being a farmer I don't know, but it would lessen the psi of the machine to the ground with treads.

Um, after the first few feet (down), you would think it would occur to you that you were going nowhere and doing it at a rapid rate of speed.[:I]

Try finding a tractor bigger than that one to pull it out!

After the second tractor is buried, wait until it dries up a little and just drive both out.

That machine is ARTICULATED Alpine. If U put treads TRACKS on it, it wouldn't be able to turn.

that is your run of the mill digger behind the original tractor, i have gotton MYSELF out of situations like that.

unhook the digger, drive out. if good ground ahead of the tractor hook on with chain or else go behind digger and pull it out backwards. on our farm we have a JD 9430, 8870 and 9300t and also a ford 9880, every year we get at least one or two of the big tractors stuck[:D] good dirty fun. ill check to see if i have pictures on this computer and ill post if i do. up here in
ND its wet as hell and we cant get anything done right now, guess the world will have to tighten its belt for now.

You could always demand an additonal taxpayer subsidized welfare check and claim you now are putting in wetlands, in an effort to re-nativeize your farm. We the taxpayers are glad to give you money for not farming.

Did that once with a JD 8640 and a 28 ft disk. Unhooked the disk and walked the tractor out. Pulled the disk out backwards with about 100' of cable. Took me about 1/2 a day later in the year to close the ruts with the loader. Man was Dad pissed![:D]

Look at the mud next to the tires. This idiot went through the mud, turned around, and went through it again.

    StuckJD4.jpg

here, you can see this is the end of his first round.

    What an idiot.

Well, i didn't take any pictures but I left an offset disk in the mud 2 weeks ago and it hasn't dried any since. Not sure if 100' of chain is enough to reach it but I'm not going to risk getting closer than that. I can look out over about 120 acres of flood water right now and could only get to the field with a jetski.

articulated tractors are the BEST to put on tracks ...unlike rigid machines who have to brake or lose power to a track to turn an articulated tractor that hinges in the middle ALWAYS has both tracks running straight with frame & always pulling on ground any way you turn really cool but expensive...that's why you see a lot of construction using IHC pulling double set of pan scrapers ..whole set up is lots cheaper than big paddle scraper

local sprayer like willmar here got into underflow & sank rig down...the farmer came up with JD 4wd & "bllurp" it was outa sight so they got a dozer called in & it went "bllluurp" so called in big dozer that just pushed the muck out of around everything however deep it took till all were got out....haven't heard what the $$$$ was yet.....BIG hole in irrigated field that will probably dry up next august
