That is how much the hospital charged to use there operating room and a room from 5pm to 10:30am.

That does not include any test they had to do or doctor and anesthesiologist.

Health care cost prices are crazy.[:(]

    What happens with a "single payer" system,, that or not so great health care,, one or the other. Anyone who thinks a Million Dollars is a lot,, haven't been to the hospital recently.

    Obamacare really screwed up the healthcare system.

    Have decided to take a recent congressional suggestion:
    1 Don't get sick.
    2 If you do, die quickly.

    Obamacare might have been the final nail but Healthcare in this country has been screwed up way before his meddling.
    Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    Had health care, continuously between 1967 to 2006 with a preexisting condition. Premiums were never above $300 per month, ha, back in 68 bet it was $20.

    The insurance was with "engineering contractors" such as Fluor/Brown Root/ and dozens of small engineering companies or personnel contractors and looking back on it,,, THINGS WERE WONDERFUL.

    Still know a few that are not retired and their insurance is "crappy" compared to they had as early BEFORE OBAMACARE. The system is * and not getting better.

    That may be what the hospital billed, but they will settle with the insurance company for much less. Probably around half.

    WAY less than half........15-20% is what my bills came out to, that the insurance actually paid. Some of it was less than 10%.

    It almost seems like medical care will only be given to RICH people in the future. That is where all this is heading.

    If it weren't for my VA medical benefits, I'd be oweing everything I have and everything I ever will have to the health care systems.

    I have read here about many of our members monthly payments for health insurance and deductibles and most are paying more for just that than I make in a month total![:0] Honestly, it scares the hell out of me.

    I'm glad most make enough money to cover all this but it sure must cut into your persuit of happiness a tad!

    ya gotta pay so all the illegals get it FREE...ya gotta pay so all the unemployed fet it FREE...ya gotta pay so all the druggies have a safety net...ya gotta pay so all the hospitals give emergency room care FREE
    for anything.......how will you get care when the hospitals go broke and fold and the doctors have only prepaid private groups...get a third job.....older peole get soylent green and kevorkian kits
