But I am deflated by the situation in finding grips to compliment ny nickel RIA Super. I bought a set of carved silver grips but they didn't fit. Returned for exchange and the seller sent a different set than what I wanted and they also didn't fit. I have now requested a refund. We'll see how that goes.
Meanwhile, I still don't have any grips on the RIA. I have genuine ivory on my other 1911s but thanks to Obama ivory is now so hard to buy (many dealers won't sell across state lines) and the price has just about quadrupled. I considered stag but in reality I don't like the appearance of 95% of stags I see and they are always too thick for comfort.
Synthetic material like fake ivory etc. looks cheap. Turns me off.
I have some brown wood checkered stocks but they are boring. There are some nice checkered stocks in black but I wanted a lighter color to compliment the nickel finish rather than contrast with it.
I have leafed through the auction listings for hours without seeing anything that really caught my eye. I may have to sell the gun because I can't find decent stocks for it. What a ridiculous situation.
PS: I destest the smooth teak stocks that came on it.

That's what I do, when the grandkids are not around I put a naked picture of a woman under them. And when the grandkids are around, its a picture of them

Buy a set of these and put a picture of a naked woman, or your grandkids under Them

I seriously just laughed out loud in a restaurant.
If you've considered having stocks made I have a slab of myrtle burl I could cut enough off of to make a set.
In for the give away. [:D]
