Anyone know anything about cell phones? --UPDATE

UPDATE: After reading on the net "how to check a cell phone battery with a multimeter", I hooked mine up and the battery shows a "full charge" at 3.7v. Guess my phone has seen better days.

Unplugged my cell phone charger this morning and the phone is "dead". I plug the charger back in and it shows the battery has 1/2 charge and starts charging again.

In a few minutes it shows the battery is fully charged and says to disconnect the charger. When I do the phone is "dead" and I plug the charger in again and the routine starts all over again.

The battery totally discharged last night while I was using it.

I'm wondering if the battery is shot. I can get a new battery locally for $30.00 but hate to spend the money if that's not my problem.

Any guesses?

Take the battery out and check the connections it may be corroded. Use a pencil eraser to clean the connections and try again.

If that fails take it Battery plus and have them check the battery, if you need a new one they will have it.

Throw it in the freezer for awhile. Sometimes it helps.

New batteries are cheap, if you can replace it. $30 is a bit high, go on feebay, find a. Seller close to you and it will be at your door fairly quick. God forbid you have to go a few days without a fone, I feel you pain in[:D]

Generally batteries don't go dead like that. Sometimes they just die, but that is pretty rare. That is where you should start though. As Sam06 said, remove the battery, wait a minute, and put it back in.

As far as buying batteries on ebay, 90% of them will be fake/crap. Good luck. Try to buy an OEM battery. 95% of "OEM" batteries on ebay are fake too, so good luck!
