Had it about 4 days now. Coughing, extreme head congestion. Started with a sore throat.

We're ready for this crap to go away.

Not to sound discouraging, but my wife has been fighting that 'crud' for the last month. Lord only knows why I haven't caught it yet. Must be all the clean livin'...[;)]

I feel for you, just had it for about ten days, limped along at work grumpy. I had decent relief with Alka Seltzer cold flu, the one with aspirin, guafesin, chlorpheneirmein maleate or whatever it's called. I had it before coffee in the morning, then throughout the day.

My lovely wife seems to be getting it this weekend and I'm to blame.[8]

I hope it passes by quickly.

My mother always gets the shot, and she is very sick right now along with a number of her friends.

I almost decided to get one this year, but changed my mind. So far I am fine,....who knows if the flu shot has anything to do with it or not.

I'm sorry that you caught a bad bug.
I've heard that alcohol will kill many germs and viruses. Don't know for sure, but I'm not taking any chances.

The year I decided to get a flu shot was in 1976 for the Swine Flu and more people died from the vaccination than there were from the flu.

"The strain itself killed one person and hospitalized 13. However, side-effects from the vaccine are thought to have caused five hundred cases of Guillain-Barr? syndrome and 25 deaths."
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_swine_flu_outbreak

I decided I would just pass on the flu shots after that.

Whiskey. I am just about finished with the last Apple Pie WD made. I assume the bubonic plague will get me when it is gone.

The only way to get rid of the crud is to pass it along to someone else![}:)]

I believe you are correct, Chris. I'll bet we could do a study and have it written up. "Whiskey as a Prophylactic". More research will be required... We should probably apply for a grant so we don't go broke testing the theory!
I've still got a couple of shots out of that jar W.D. gave me when we all met up. Can't quite bring myself to drink it.

I am going to finish mine Christmas Day. It was WD's birthday. A couple of snorts, a good cigar, and some really good memories.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

the old flu shot was a modified live virus ...got ia sn felt bad for months ...did not take another for 20 years then started on the current killed virus type...has really helped >>>BUT<<<< the strain picked to mass produce is a best guess scenario probably a year ahead ...some times ya win , sometimes the virus mutates with a right turn clyde
