i doubt other countries make such an ordeal out of it

Many third world countries will burn out their retina's since they don't have access to those silly glasses. Or they just won't give a rats * about an eclipse.

I am sure in many countries when they have a eclipse, they will think they have pizzed off the gods and will have a human sacrifice to please them.
