They would be smarter to offer a 75 cent discount if you bring your own box.

Spider has the right Idea of how to correctly run a business [^] I admire business that do the same with discount for cash over a surcharge for C.C. use Better to make a % of customers happy than the other % mad.

My first question would be to find the reason for the fee. It may not be the business. In the attempt to purloin more of what you work hard for, local governments have implementing container taxes on practically everything that holds something.

Many places are charging bag fees, can taxes, I can go on.

Also keep in mind fast prepared food places are some of the highest taxed businesses on the planet... and YOU the consumer pays for it.

On top of that, the socialists want to fast food workers to be paid $15 an hour.

Let the owner know that you'll buy elsewhere. As far as banking tellers, with e banking and being able to deposit a check using my smartphone, I can't see a reason I'd need to have contact with a teller.

one of my banks charged me a $15 fee to accept a 6 figure wire transfer...if i wanted to borrow as much as i have on deposit they would charge 4.65% and the best interest i can get is 2/10ths of one percent..told them to deduct that fee or i would close the account out and go elsewhere..they did but said they would not do it in the future so i am looking anyway...can't earn anything on an account and lousy service is a trademark of most banks now

I had pizza last night but I went there to eat it. Endless supply of beer as well.

I fired my bank after 50 years with them as they tried to "fee me" and I then switched over to a credit union which is way more user friendly. For most credit unions, just living in the area is all that is required.

Fees are not the banks fault. Fees were implemented right after the socialists passed Dodd Frank.
Dodd Frank compliance has added costs your bank must now burden and banks are having to charge more fees.

It should be no coincidence banks started charging more fees and ending many free services right after Dodd Frank.

Costs courtesy of Obama and friends passed to YOU the consumer.

If you ever go to Chuck E. Cheese, eat the box. It tastes better than their pizza. [xx(]

I switched to credit unions back in 1980, banks wanted to charge you to walk through their doors back then.

Navy Federal and USAA are both good, I have had both since college. I still keep Wells Fargo around for convenience since the nearest branch for Navy Federal is 45 minutes away.

Where I live in California they're charging me 25 cents "lumber fee" for buying a sheet of plywood. Mountain Mike's is the pizza joint that is charging me 75 cents for a box.

Also the city's making stores charge customers 10 cents for paper bags. Damn hippies and their agendas.

That's just bizarre. I can understand (don't agree) the city charging a fee for something.
But the pizza box fee is nuts!!

..There's a great pizza place in our town. After bringing home a lot
of pies in a greasy, stapled bag, I asked if they had boxes. They
are glad to use a box...if you know to ask for it when ordering. No
extra charge either. I'd been bringing a towel to keep the grease off
    my truck seat.

I will match your quote below, LOL, in Washington State they are now charging a 25 cent tax on fluorescent lamps.

Where I live in California they're charging me 25 cents "lumber fee" for buying a sheet of plywood. Mountain Mike's is the pizza joint that is charging me 75 cents for a box.

BLKSRT8 - I was just looking over the reciept and I saw there was this "fee". If it weren't for the Tuesday deal (large specialty pizza half off) I would've been more miffed. I wonder if this is also a city thing?

booter_one - That's just worng. They first take away regular screw in bulbs and make you convert to fluorescent or LCD then slap you with a tax.

i consider it gouging when they would charge me 23 times as much as best they pay out ....for using my own money and trying to charge a $15 fee for putting it in their bank.....and a $30 fee for using a wire transfer going out....some years ago i bought 200 acres and the lawyer and i met the banker on a normally closed morning and wired a $60K transfer to Florida as down payment on the deal and bank was HAPPY to get the interest on the loan balance, no fee..thank you and you're welcome
