Any of the good walnut or corn cob medias sold by Cabella's or Midway will do just fine. There is also a media restorer, is that the right term, that you may use when things start to take too long to polish, its basically a cream that you add to the media, just check out the on line catalogs for these two companys, you cant go wrong.

I'm *mighty* partial to the finest grain walnut. Comes out very easily. 5-10% of the cases may have a grain caught in the flash hole that will pop right out when you deprime. In twenty years, I've never lost a decap pin to one.

Midway's finest grade walnut for me as well, occasionally (When I can get a deal on it) I add some RCBS treated walnut shell to my tumbler. If my brass is really corroded, I will soak it in a vinegar solution the night before tumbling, takes a lot of the crud off.

Fine grain walnut eh. Well I'm off this mornin to find some.. What is with all the sporting goods stores and ammo this time of year? I went looking for 45lc yesterday and only one store had some remingtons for "$27.00". Everybody else said they just ordered and were waiting on supplies

For awhile I was convinced of the merits of corn cob but now find it too soft... so I use a 50/50 mix of corncob and rice. Works as well as walnut, but no better.

Walnut will clean faster, yet not give as brite a finish. If really dirty use the Walnut. Then follow up with the Corn Cob Media if a Brite Finishis what you like.
