Food For Thought (Literally!)

You know, I was just wondering....

What with BSE ("Mad Cow") now in the food chain, and the safety of eating beef now in question, do you suppose that things could get bad enough (increased contamination) where another animal could become the dominant source of meat---say, perhaps, pigs or buffalo?

I haven't heard any reports---YET---that indicate oinkers or buffs are prone to or even have a disease equivalent to BSE (but not to say they couldn't catch it), though deer (CWD) and sheep (scrapie) certainly do. Do you think it's possible we may all be dining on alot more pork, bison, and fowl (as opposed to beef) in the not-too-distant future?

Buffalo....Mmmmm....I've heard so much about it, I'd really like to try some of that....
