Father-Son Charged in PilferingBoston Globe- For nearly a week after the destruction of the World Trade Center, 18-year-old Louis Senecal walked the streets of Auburn as a self-proclaimed hero who had sifted through the rubble as a rescue volunteer in New York City. Now both he and his 48-year-old father, who is also named Louis Senecal, are looking at possible jail terms after police said they admitted yesterday that they had only pretended to be relief workers so that they could pilfer souvenirs. Police say that the elder Senecal removed a hat belonging to an Altamont, N.Y., police officer from the wreckage while his son took a New York City firefighter's jacket. Auburn police charged both men yesterday with receiving stolen property, which is a misdemeanor punishable by fines and up to a year in jail. ''These charges could be upgraded when all the reports are in,'' said Auburn police Detective Chad Syphers. ''They never did any rescue work. The kid says he really didn't steal the jacket; he just wanted something to prove he was there. In a roundabout way, it's still a theft.'' The younger Senecal is facing a court date on the charge while his father was jailed Friday for violating his probation. The elder Senecal was on probation for a domestic violence conviction when he left Maine to go to New York without notifying his probation officer. The Senecals could not be reached for comment. Syphers said police had collected written statements from friends of both Senecals that said they had told the friends they had taken the items from the crime scene. The younger Senecal had said publicly that he had been given the jacket by New York officials as thanks for his help. ''They fessed up after we showed them the written statements,'' said Syphers

Wife & I went to an estate sale this morning as they advertised guns for sale. Guns were gone when I got there, naturally, but the guy came out wearing a Sig Sauer t-shirt, so, naturally that began a conversation about guns. This led to me mentioning my wife's new S&W Bodyguard, which led to the guy's wife pulling out her Tomcat .32 to EDC show us.

By that time I had to buy something from the guy so I bought his 10 ounce Englehard bar of silver for $400. Paid a little too much, I know, but been wanting to get some more anyway and that was convenient since I'd brought cash for possible gun purchase.

It really hurts to know that people will actually do something like that.I really believe in taking a test where you will be allowed to breed. The English had something like that many, many moons ago. People were granted a license to breed and above their front door, hung a sign that said "Fornication Under Consent of the King." It was later shortened into an acronym...
