Numerous law enforcement officers are currently conducting a unique tribute to the fallen NYPD officers. We are shipping a single white dove from just east of Dallas, Tx to NY for it to be released at the World Trade Center site. The unique part is that it's being shipped by law enforcement agencies who are transferring it from one agency to the next for the entire 1500 mile trip. Each assisting agency is signing the special built shipping container to signify their participation as a nationwide (or at least half of it) show of unity for the NYPD. Most of these are Sheriff Dept's or other local agencies who are hauling it across their own jurisdiction before transferring it to their neighboring agency down the line.It started the trip at 0825 hrs. 10-6-2001 and is expected to be received by NYPD the afternoon of 10-7-2001.I've got a special interest in this because the trip began at my house. If anyone hears of it passing through their area or knows where I can spot any media coverage on this, please let me know. It is traveling I-30 to Little Rock, AR, then I-40 to near Knoxville, TN, then I-81 to near Harrisburg, PA, then I-78 across New Jersey to Jersey City PD.As this was being written (noon 10-6-2001) I received word that it's entering Little Rock.
