This is sort of an off the wall question, but the range of expertise on this board never ceases to amaze me.
I wandered into a magic shop and saw some stuff that was such a mind blower I had to buy some. I still haven't figured out how this works and it's bugging me.
It's a white powder labeled Rockett Gel. When you place 1tsp. of this stuff in a cup you can pour in 8oz. of water and it will completely gel within 3-4 seconds. This allows you to turn the cup upside down without water pouring out, giving the illusion that the water has disappeared.
Any ideas what this chemical is, 'cause I'm stumped.
