I like having a rifle in both calibers, mostly due to ammo availability.
Depending on what you're doing, M193 is good stuff. But if you need to penetrate cover I've seen some pretty impressive results in the real world when using the old steel core 7.62x39 rounds on vehicles. It's not as good as a .308 but it works better than a 5.56.
