Combat Resuce episode 6

I don't know if any of you watch this show but I watch it every week. It is real and while Reality TV it is more of a documentary. The show takes you along with the "PJs" while performing "MediVac" flights in Afghan.

Most of the shows end well and you get to see how most of these rescues go. It can be emotionally trying sometimes especially when they pick up kids.

Well Episode 6 taxed my emotions to the breaking point yesterday.

While I was a civilian in Iraq and Afghan I was still there on base. While in Iraq I drove in military convoys, those convoys allowed me into the world that is usually reserved for military only. I am emotionally scarred from that place, seen some things I was not ready for. While I never rode on a Medevac flight I've been on several convoys where they had to come and pick someone up. I remember one convoy that the Medevac ride ended in the same manner as this show did yesterday. That convoy really messed some of us up when we got the news about that soldier.

Anyhow, if any of you have not seen this show here is Episode 6 on Youtube.

Those PJ's are some very brave men. Great show.

I watched the entire series and it was outstanding.

Amazing how unfamiliar many still are with the PJ's. Compared with other SpecOps outfits they are very low key.

I have enjoyed watching the series when I catch it. A former co-worker that was a Ranger spoke very highly of the PJs.

Though it appeared to be an entirely Ranger/Delta operation, those medics portrayed in Blackhawk Down were in fact PJ's. They saved several Rangers during that mess.

When it comes to combat medical personnel, they're the very best our military has.

FWIW - The movie also never mentions the SEAL's who took part in that raid. [;)]
