AR markings

Im trying to identify parts on a friends franken AR. Ive checked the web but not getting the answers we are looking for.
Im not looking for who made the forgings, I trying find what gun company milled the parts.

The upper has a square behind the shell deflector, no other markings I can see. Its in the same location the "keyhole" marking is on other uppers.
The barrel is marked L 5.56 NATO 1/7

Any idea who made them. I was kinda hoping some of you may have something with those markings and know the makers?

Thanks

    What's the profile and length?

Any other markings under the handguards, near the chamber area?

Based on what I read on other forums it could be LMT, they use an L as their markings on uppers and barrels.

Thats all I could find also. The bbl may be but I dont think the upper is LMT.

If so, it could be (at least) either a Rock River, Delton, BCM, CMMG, Fail Zero, CD Defense and Colt upper receiver.

Yep thats the mark. If a Colt, it should have an "M4" marked on the front right? Ive read that but dont know if its true.

    And thanks btw.

As for the L indicating LMT, they use this single letter on receiver components but to my knowledge their barrels are magnetic particle inspected and nomenclature stampings begin with MP.

If it is an LMT, after removing the handguards you would possibly see a letter L stamped on the chamber area.

Also, open the rifle up and look up into the chamber area of the upper for stampings along the rear edge of the barrel extension. LMT's have an L visible at the 9 o'clock position.

My Colt has a C and keyhole on the upper with M4 above the gas tube, no square.

Colt has used several brands of forgings, including BAFE.
