What typical MPG do these small planes (e.g. Cessna 182) get, under average conditions?

Local air show has the blue angels flying around. My question is that it is right at 100 degrees and those guys are wearing flight suits and are in a tiny cock pit, do they have any a/c in the cab, how do they stay cool?

The Blue Angles actually do not wear flight suits or G-suits. The inflation of a g-suit would be too distracting for what they do.

I would assume the the cockpits are climate controlled to keep the humidity down if nothing else.

Of course they have A/C.Those are Fighter jets with no guns or rockets.I'm SURE they left the A/C intact as well.

A lot of planes use "air bleed" systems that use air from the compressor stage of the motor to cool the pilot and electronics. Some have fluid tubes in the flight suits that circulate liquid to heat/cool the pilot as well.

Back in the day, flight line mechanics would call the guys that worked on those system, heat & vent guys.

They would get pizzed and say they were environmental system specialists..[:)][:p]

Yes, they have A/C. But they still lose as much as a gallon of body water during that show, from exertion.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

G-suits are worn because in combat a pilot has no idea what sort of maneuver he may have to conduct or exactly when he may be called upon to do it.

On the other hand, all Blue Angels moves are precisely planned, meaning they know exactly what stresses they're about to receive and are able to counter them with muscle tensioning.

The reason they use muscle tensioning instead of just going ahead and wearing a g-suit is that their aircraft use a specially set up, heavily tensioned control stick. Due to this they fly with one arm positioned against the top of their thigh for stability and a G-suit inflating/deflating would interfere with this.

At least that's what one of their pilots told me.
