Did they ever make them in Italy? I bought a big lot of mags and just trying to figure out all what I have.

If they are Mecgar mags they are made in Italy.
How do I tell?
Their original 'zipper' style mags with the obvious seam on the back were German made. Current production mags are produced by Checkmate. Not as good.

Welcome to their cost-cutting Checkmate mags.
They're DoD's long time 1911 mag manufacturer.
