OK, I like the Mini-14. It is not an AR. It is not an AK. It is what it is. At 200 yards it feels real good to me. I like American made. I even like the .223/5.56 just to shoot. For thin skinned varmets at or under 200 yards it is just right. Using the rifle for 2 leg varments at or under 200yards it also works very well. Just thought I would have a gun subject and stur the pot. My 2 cents [8D]
Oh yea, I also like the 10mm. Nothing to do with the Mini 14 topic just a little back ground.

Call Ruger, they will send a manual for free.

The Mini-14 is a simple rifle. Just cock the hammer, pull down on the rear of the trigger guard, remove the trigger group and remove the action from the stock. Remove the recoil spring and operating rod from the action by slightly compressing the spring and pulling the spring guide rod up, then push the operating rod back to the disassembly notch for removal. Wiggle the bolt out of the receiver (it WILL come out) and you are about as far as you need to go. If the bolt needs disassembling, it is fairly simple and obvious to do. Just be careful of all springs. Wear safety glasses in case your hand slips. Assemble in reverse order as they say.
