Any comments/feedback on this brand of ammo? Seems reasonably priced. Some of the rounds appear to be round-nose and some (including .40) appear to be flat-nose -- you know what I mean, I can't think of the right name for it.

I've shot their ammo in 30-06, 9x18 Makarov, 7x57 mauser, and maybe others I dont remember, all of them shot extremely well, very accurate, clean burning, cheap, what else do you need? Go for it if you get it cheap where you're at.

Be wary of the S+B .40SW,I was using this ammo in my practice sessions with my Glock 27 and had several "duds" out of 1000 rounds and then it happened,a squib load.Them idiots at S+B shipped out a primed round of 180gr flatnose with no powder charge.I thank god that the squib load was the second shot of the last set of double tapps I was working on.I'm pretty sure that if it was in the middle of the mag I would have recognized the popping sound and not followed up on it but one never knows,I work my doubles fast.I would hate to think of the damage to my hand that would have resulted if I followed the squib blocked barrel with a full power round in my mini Glock,I may not have been typing this yet. All's well though, after trying unsuccessfully to unblock barrel myself ,I sent said barrel, slide and frame back to Glock and returned entire leftover S+B .40SW (20boxes).Now I don't know if Glock settled with S+B on my behalf but 3 weeks later I got my mini Glock carry gun back, with an unblocked shiny polished barrel, with a new finished slide as well as a new fireing pin assembly. They went over the entire gun to check for other damage and concluded there was wear and tear enough to fix them up,WITH NO CHARGE,not even the shipping to send it back to me. I know this thread was not about Glock so I'll finish by saying, for me personally,I will NEVER use S+B .40SW again. The lousy $1.00 I saved per box is not worth my digits,no way,no how,Josey[This message has been edited by Josey1 (edited 01-20-2002).]

I have shot several cases of the .223, 9mm and .45. I am currently working on my first case of .40. My overall experience with S&B has been excellent. Good price, accurate enough for practice, and reloadable....

Josey --I have had similar superior customer service from Glock. After installing a New York trigger (by a local gunshop that claimed to be qualified) the slide locked open after each shot. Glock sent it back repaired, free, without comment. I just talked to another Glock armorer and found out that the NY trigger is designed so that if you put a key part in upside-down it will do that on every shot, for new cops training on the range with their Glock for the first time. So the gun shop installed my trigger parts upside-down. Thanks for the comments on S&B, everyone. Sounds like a slightly mixed bag. Too bad I have a Glock 27 myself right now. Thanks for that reminder to listen for the "pop" that doesn't sound right.

offeror; I've sold ton's of the rifle stuff with nary a complaint. Never handled the pistol ammo.

how's the quality of their shotgun ammo?
Rule #1: there is no easy wayRule #2: if,in fact, there is an easy way, it's mined (especially in Afghanistan or Kosovo!)
