Let's see, Winchester brags about the 300 WSM getting same velocities as the 300 Win Mag. with about 14% less powder. But for some reason they fail to mention that it probably takes that much more in the 270 WSM to only achieve a 225 FPS velocity edge over the 270 Win. with the same bullet weights. And it can't do what the 270 WBY can do with the same bullet weights. So why does it exist? The same probably is true with the 7mm WSM compared to the 280 Rem.

    I almost bought one but now have decided that I need to build a 338 Lapua magnum on a Sako frame.
