My daughters first kill!

Took my daughter on a hunt over the weekend aways outside San Antonio this weekend and she put one down. The ram only went about 30 yards after the shot, wobbled, and fell over dead. She was using her .243. I went ahead and sprung for a shoulder mount.

What gun is that ? give us a few details.
That's great, it's a moment she will always remember and a smile you will never forget.

It's a Remington model 770 .243. I got a screaming deal on it that I couldn't pass up. Her shot was only about 40 yards or so, but she showed good restraint by waiting for a clear shot since there were 4 rams that came by. She's 11 years old. She couldn't stop smiling.
How does the ram taste?

was just gonna say, bet you couldn't scrape that smile off her. I figure dad had a pretty big smile too...........
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
A father taking a daughter hunting....a daughter having success and a picture that is worth a 1,000 words....AWESOME! Congrats to both of you.

Thought so, I raised them for 12 years for 4-H & FFA for show sheep. I used to have a ram just like that one. I mentioned to my dad one day that I wanted to butcher him & have him mounted. He sold the ram(my ram) a week later.[:(!]
The fact that she is so young means that you can look forward to many hunts with a very special hunting partner.
Nice to see that she is out hunting with dad instead of wasting time at the mall or video games. As we go through these days of gun grabbing and our youth losing interest in the shooting sports I find this picture so heart warming, thanks, I needed the lift.
