We have been getting FLOODED with junk email!I checked my email last night around 10pm, downloaded and deleted 15-17 items ... junk mail from people we dont know, for every thing from how to make your * larger to fake diplomas!I checked it again this morning about 6:30, and we had 33 emails ... 1 of which we actually knew the person!Over the last 2 weeks I've been the returning "Un-Subscribe" links, and it just seems to be getting worse ... HELP!

I'm done with ebay. I had some .30 caliber tracer tips listed that they pulled. Their reason? HAZARDOUS MATERIAL. Please, this company is a joke. I wish I would have listened to others and never opened my account in the first place. I would love to see this company fall to the dirt.

I've been listing two auctions of tracers a week for the past few months and no problems. Now all of the sudden they give me this. Enough is ENOUGH!

I guess I'll try to list them on Gunbroker. I've just about ran out of them. I'm off to try to figure out how to sell here.

    Just venting a little.[:)]

Here on gunbroker, there is a link to the Federal Trades Commission, found in the help for buyers heading....look a little, you'll find it. Or just run a search...aat that site, looke for internet comerse, and you'll find info on how to put a stop to it... If you ever "click" on any free offers, you are submitting your name to a mailing list. If you play any online lotto...guess what...
keep lots of extra uppers for your ar..you can change often enough to keep the thing from over heating...what ever caliber fits the moment..~Secret Select Society of Suave Stylish Smoking Jackets~

Kimber,One of the easiest ways that I have found to combat that is when you get tired of unsusbscribing (i did it for about a month, just to be fair) is to block the sender. Each program does it different (outlook, outliik express, yahoo mail) but it does work. The blocked senders e-mail will never get into your inbox, it goes straight into the deleted items folder.Just an idea.

Just delete any emails from unfamiliar names and addresses without opening them. Sometimes, when you click the "unsubscribe" button, it sends a "confirmation" back to the company or sender showing them that the address(your email address) is valid. Then it adds your address to numerous mailing lists. When I get any emails from unfamiliar addresses, I just delete them!

Best bet is use one of the new inbox protectors, sends junk mail goodbye, These inbox protectors will weed out any incoming mail that is mass distributed or doesn't have your address directly listed in either the to or cc, also, this may take a bit, but unsubscribe from them, usually at the bottom of this crap, there is a link to an address to unsubscribe, usually takes a day or so to do this, but it is well worth it.

When you go to some sites, and click on things there spyware is loaded into your system. Over at ZDnet they have a free download to identify them and you can clean your machine of them.I did this and my computer runs alot faster.

badboybob & alledan, Need your help. Went to this site, but was unsure of what to down load for this junk email problem. I saw spameater-pro, but it was not free. Most of the time, I need to be walked through thing on this computer. Any help appreciated.

Spameater-pro has a free 30 day trial period. If it works for me I'll buy the thing. I'm sick of spam. Go ahead, download it, and tinker with it 'till it shows up on your tool box. Another good one at this site is pop up stopper.
So many guns to buy. So little money.

Big mistake, replying to "remove" that will only increase the spam. It lets the send know it is a good email address then is added to other spam lists.Hers how I deal with spammers http://spamcop.net/

Man, can I sympathize. Kimber, Ms. Beast, Gene - I use an app called "Spam Killer" which I located on ZDnet. It is not free, but it does (or used to) have an evalution period & I bought it long before the trial ended. Real happy with it. As 22WRF said *never* unsubscribe from any spam, unless you are real sure it's a legit operation. Most of the time these are automated boiler room operations and any action on your part is like putting the bunnies in big cage. Another thing I do is to use a freebie 'public' eml acct for any newsgroup, BBS or other purpose where it may be acquired by the bastids, and a private acct for friends, family and confirmed business contacts. That isn't failsafe, but what little trash does arrive is 95% screened by the Spam Killer and the other 5% doesn't get a second chance. Write your Congressman; a lot of people complaining loud enough can make a difference. These bums don't have enough money to buy political influence like Gates & MacroCrap have.
