`VICTIM' KILLS WOULD-BE THIEF By PHILIP MESSING
November 1, 2001 -- A 30-year-old man trying to snatch a gold chain was stabbed to death on a Brooklyn street when his intended victim pulled a knife and fought him off, police sources said yesterday. Tony Hubbard, 30, was stabbed in the chest and left shoulder shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday in front of 874 Broadway, not long after he tried to swipe a gold chain from a 36-year-old man. The man sporting the gold chain, whose name is being withheld by The Post, surrendered to detectives at the 83rd Precinct yesterday in the company of his lawyer. Sources said the man might face charges for illegally carrying a knife. http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/33066.htm
