    That's a shame!

    I'd clear coat it.

    Nice work, Sawz!
Painting that white is bordering on criminal! A nice coat of oil would really look nice on that.

    Like the look,,,,,Well done.[;)]

Just for the record I'm glad you're doing that. I don't get any higher than the breakfast table,,,,,[:o)]

The bottom of my feet hurt like crazy after spending time up on that scaffolding, the only thing I can think of why that would be, they keep trying to grip the planks like hands.

One of the downfalls of using poplar as a stain grade wood is it stains up real splotchy and doesn't look all that well, there are ways to fix that though.

If they are going to paint the ceiling, try and talk them into at least leaving the trusses natural. Darker trusses will make that thing pop.

    Paint?!? Really?
What an ignominious end to such fine work. [V]

Popple yellows over time to a real warm buttery color if left natural.

I had to look at it again, if they paint that I would consider all your hard work and craftsmanship wasted. A total waste of time. You can always paint it later.

Which brings to mind that we have not seen an update lately of the house being built by the Artist formerly known as Cartod. [;)]

We put in the finishing touches tonight the "fake" real bolts
The "gap" at the top of the wall beam where it hits the ceiling is by design to allow some LED lighting along the length of the walls

    Beautiful job.

I am with everyone else. Only a fool would paint it white. Tung seed oil for the T&G, stain the trusses and ridge beam and let the grain show.

Wow! I wish I could afford to hire some GunBroker folks to build me a house. The wood and stone work would be superb!

Kids in the neighborhood shot about 5000 dollars worth of windows out in this house with a BB gun including the round one in the picture

You don't even need to stain that popple. It will yellow to a real nice warm tone in a few years. Glad they skipped the white paint.

Anybody who puts paint on that should be charged with vandalism.

I know its a slim chance, but did anyone get caught or arrested ,

Cops around here don't get much into stuff like that. I don't know maybe they figure the property damage covered by insurance is low on their priority list. But you would think they would at least spend a morning going around talking to moms in the neighborhood who might interested in what their kids are doing, or asking if they have seen any body with bb guns walking around. In similar circumstances like this all I have gotten was a card with a case number on it, in case I have more information and a letter 90 days later saying they are dropping the case
