You just got me to thinking. As long as there's a thread for "guns Ruger should make," now that they have a nice Mini-14 and Mini-30, and even a "mini-looking" Deerfield carbine in .44 Magnum -- how about a .308 carbine, or ranch whatever???? If anybody could produce an affordable .308 utility carbine, these guys could do it.

Some time back Ruger did have a 308 based along the lines of the mini14. I heard them say something about "pressure" and then dropped it. I don't know if it was 'chamber pressure" or "political pressure", maybe someone else has more info.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

I'd like to see a Blackhawk .357 / .38 / 9mm convertible in stainless steel. I read a rumor here that they were going to make some, but I haven't seen anything on their web site.

For a long time now I've wanted Ruger to make the GP 100 series in .22LR. S&W has their 17 and 617 revolver, it'd be nice if Ruger offered something camparable.

I think the next new gun to come out of the Ruger Factory will be something made out of Titanium.

Ruger has a special processing plant that makes some of the most expensive Golf clubs on the market. ( Callaway Big Bertha)

Personally I would like to see the PC-9 carbine made in Stainless Steel.

I'd like to see a Mini-14 made mostly of titanium--if done right it could probably weigh less than 4 pounds.

But I've pretty much given-up on the idea of Ruger using their titanium casting/machining knowledge on their firearms--which is one of the reasons I sold my Ruger stock. I wrote a letter, as a shareholder, asking if they were going to meet S&W's and Taurus's titanium product lines with one of their own. They sent me a Ruger patch as a reply...

They are very slow to change their products, or to adapt to changing consumer demand.

Where did you hear of a .357 Sigma? I asked at the NRA convention if they had or would have a conversion for the .40 S&W to .357 Sig & was told they had made a very few .357 Sigs but there would be no more.

I`d like to have a nice peach cobbler, shaped like a mini-14,all crunchy around the edges, and soggy in the middle.

If you could find an aftermarket .357Sig barrel for your Sigma, you'd probably have the job done.

I doubt that they've ever been "lobbied" for a new gun. I like the Maxi-14 title. I'm willing to send 'em requests for a Maxi-14 in .308 if you are. Or a Mini-308. Or a Maxi-30 (in .308).

Unfortunately, their web site doesn't have any contact e-mail addresses; only a snail mail address. Shame on them. Earth to customer service.....

I'd like to see a Mini-30 in a garand type configuration that accepted sks/ak strippers to load with.

As far as the 357 sigma, I've had two go thru my hands personally. They aren't very popular in this area, people view them as a piece of junk, and you can pick them up very cheap... When S&W sold out of their original Sigma's for really cheap right before they made the new enhanced series people were picking them up for $159.99... Really, and they didn't sell very fast either. And people still remember that, so when they get rid of used ones, they go for pretty cheap.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

The Ruger 308/243 offering was the XGI it looked like an oversized Mini-14. It never got past the prototype phaze due to production and performance problems. (Basically it was an accuracy washout that was hard to make and battered itself to pieces)

wipala -- Now THERE'S a piece of worthwhile news -- I wonder if materials have advanced to the point where the XGI has become more feasible? Or whether they now have an engineer on board who could solve the design problems? Obviously, there are plenty of smaller .308s out there now, from the pricey Armalite AR-10(T) to the so-called Quest III bolt-action cheap import.

The problem with the XGI was that of accuracy, would invarably throw the fifth round about 4" out at 100 yds.
E.Williams the 10 MM offering was the Buckeye series offered by Buckeye distributers in Ohio and was a 38-40/10MM convertable. There was a very limited run of them.

I want a .17 cal rimfire based on the 10/22 with the full length manlicher stock.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

    I`d like a Heath Bar,
in the shape of a Super Redhawk.

    I`d also like a M-77 in 250 Savage.

rugster....I've seen the SP line of .22's and think they're ok, but I was more interested in a hunting/target gun. I had a GP 100 but during a * attack I sold it. Always wanted one in .22 and have been looking at the Taurus Tracker line. They seem to be a solid looking design and if they perform as well as the M-85 I bought I'd think it'd be a great little gun.
