If your cat had grey stripes instead of orange, it would be spittin' image my beloved Tiger. I lost her to an enlarged heart in 1989 after 14 years. I haven't had the courage to get another, putting her down left me with such a feeling of guilt. I can honestly say I understand the pain you feel now, but most of it will go away with time.

So very sorry ATF, we did the same in Aug. and are still not over it. It is just way too hard, but you are so fortunate to have had those good years with a great friend, that is what you must remember.

I used to deal with an old veterinarian, really more of a horse doctor in PA. that had to put one of my Great Danes down for me. Seeing that I was upset, he said " If dogs didn't die, what the hell would we do with all these damn puppies. go get another dog TODAY"!

I did, and that has made all the difference. Words to live by. Thanks Doc Markle

Cool cat! He had a great life. Think how lucky that cat was! Someone feed him, loved him and cared enough about him that in the bitter end made sure he did not suffer.

I say that is one lucky cat and you were lucky to be the guy to be his friend.

Still hard I know. I have had to do that as well.
