    Okay, I'll give it another try and take it from a different angle. Would this be a wise choice if you were in the market for an economical 1911 to use with the Mech Tech carbine conversion kit?

    I've heard some folks here say the were disapointed with them. One guy was sure his had used parts in it. I looked at four that were received at my buddy's gun shop, and they looked good. We did have to do a good clean job on them due to a heavy oil/grease that was sprayed on and in them. Overall, I thought they looked well made. They sold for $375 each in two days, so someone else thought the same thing.
