You'll survive any attack dano - provided you wear a kevlar vest I'm beginning to think.

Not ever being a member of the military I've only heard about the pinning - personally I think it's silly/dumb but there will always be traditionalists who will say it needs to continue.

dano, the difference being you stated your feelings in a non judgmental manner.

Hacker did not, instead chosing to insult and heckle.

He wanted to flame and belittle, now he wants help.

And lowrider is not the only one that thinks that.

please please please ladr before you start telling others what i said go back and read what i said. i never said anyone was stupid. i never insulted anyone. i never belittled anyone. i never called anyone any names. i said that a particular custom was stupid. i commented on the practice, not the people doing it. before you run around telling people what i said make sure you have it right. you don't. this is one of the big problems around here. people read something and somehow they see things that are not there and then they start misrepresenting the facts. also, what happened to our sense of humor? i was just trying to have a little fun with the discussion by making some jokes about poking yourself and dropping bowling balls and such and a lot of guys are all in a bunch. so many people are so uptight about so many things. take a deep breath and let it go, man. i don't get why so many people are so wound up over this.

    i never make misteakes.

Hacker, I'm not military and dont see it happening, I think my saying the deed was stupid you insulted the people who had it done by participating. I think that everyone has to think what is good for them may not be good for others, these men are sharing a honorfrom their peers, so let them. I cannot critisize people with ear rings ,tattoos or any other thing they do to their body because i dont have them. I dont know the whole story about pinning and i will not comment on matters i know nothing about. Here is my advice to you, drop it, you stated your opinion and to you and others you may be right, just like to the men who had it done they were right, agree to disagree with honor and learn.

fine by me. all i ever wanted was to state my opinion and move on but i got rat packed by a bunch of guys who turned it into a personal attack. good thing i never mentioned that i used to date hillary before she met bill. they must feel stronger about it than me. i've already moved on. dano i got a mess of slivers in my hand from this big wooden spoon i've been using to stir with. how about some relief?

    i never make misteakes.

"rat packed???" and slivers in the hand....oh my they must really hurt.... hacker You weren't stirring you just stepped into some bovine feces and then discovered you couldn't get the stench off yourself. Leave the stirrin to dano at least he has walked the walk. Have a nice day, Beach. See I can be real nice too.

    These are not your words??
you're right, man. i do not understand stupid childish pranks
    OR THESE??

. how can such a silly thing as being stuck by a pin have any real meaning? it's a joke. and putting so much meaning into a joke is stupid. man, the way some of you are defending this garbage

You went out of your way to belittle and insult something you have knowlege of, at the time same impling the soldiers who did that was childish and stupid.

Did you ever ask where some of those childish and stupid pranks was founded on??

    Ever hear of blood stripes??

Stirring the pot?? I know all about stirring the pot...ask some of these people.

What you should have said was trolling/flaming.

judge not? that's a joke. all anyone around here does is judge others. you know beach, when i started posting here i made the decision not to reveal too much personal information about myself. i'm like that. but it bugs me that you and some others seem to think you know all about me. you have hinted that i have not had much experience in life, such as your statement above about the slivers must have really hurt. i guess that's your way of saying i have never been hurt bad and maybe that's why i was repelled by the pinning story. wrong. i have actually lead a rather adventurous life. you want to hear about some slivers i've had in my life? let's see, i guess the worst one was when they poured me into the emergency room and the surgeons had to put five steel pins and about 1,000 stiches into me to pull me back together. i've been in a couple of scrapes where somebody went to the hospital. once it was me, the rest of the times it was the other fella. i survived a plane crash once. i also crashed a race car at about 140 mph rolling over 3 times. twice i have had a guy say he was going to shoot me. the first time i showed him my gun and said let's get it on. he had someplace else to go after that. the second time i didn't have a gun so i went home and got one. even though the loud mouth had two buddies with him, none of them wanted to fight after i got back. another man pulled a knife on me in a bar one time. i showed him my 45 and he changed his mind about wanting to fight. no i never joined the army or navy, but i haven't sat in my room watching tv my whole life either. you can dismiss me as not knowing anything because i'm not a veteran, but don't think i'm some sheltered wall flower. by the way, i do know what it means to have someone watch my back in a tight situation. i have also stood beside a buddy who was getting himself into a mess with a car load of trouble. i thought that what he was doing was very dumb. but he was my buddy and i would not leave his side. i guess we put up a good front because there were 5 of them and only 2 of us but they backed down and left. i guess it would be stupid to say that i don't have to justify myself to you because that's sort of what i've been doing here. but i'm done now.

    i never make misteakes.

Just because you do not understand something does not make it a joke.

hacker...I just read your words on the other thread responding to clouder's. While I still think you got yourself into this mess all by yourself through some poorly expressed thoughts you had, you did exit with grace and that counts for something. I can let the issue go just as easily as I took up the issue. And no I don't think you are some 12 year old punk. .....
You mentioned race cars now there are some stupid people.....imagine pouring and spraying champaigne on each other just because some guy won the race...what a crock!!! What a waste of good wine.......See what I mean hacker? I've never been a race car driver and I sure as hell wouldn't condemn their traditions if I hadn't been there.....I'm quite certain there must be some incredible thrill to feel the spray of that victory champaigne even if it means I had to dry clean my suit afterwards....and that's the reason they do it. Like I said, "Have a good day." Beach

And let's not forget dumping Gatorade on the coach after the big win. Do you know the price of the suits that some of those pro coaches wear? Holy moley. If the cost of that ruined suit could just feed one child...

    Hacker,

I think we understand that you don't understand. You should see by the reaction that those of us who do are offended by your comments on something that is meaningful to us, yet meaningless (or foolish) to you. You have the right to you "opinion", but you don't have the facts or experiences to base it on. Therefore, you should accept that it is something you don't understand at this time, and appoligize to those that you offended. I'm not sying change you opinion, that's part of what we defended, you right to have it. But appoligize in the spirit that it something you don't understand, not something that is stupid.
