My car said 107 degrees on the way home. My pool, however felt about 30 degrees.

The lake here did as well yesterday. It was bout 100 air temp but the lake temp was 80 surface. When I jumped in, whoa boy, it took my breath away. 20 degree temp difference was an eye opener.

It was funny....we were on our way home and the kids were fussing a little about typical mess. I was about to start getting onto them when one of them notice that the car said it was 112. Then they started making jokes about how hot it was. The temperature actually helped get their minds off of how hot they were....too funny

Car thermometers are not very accurate, and you notice that as soon as you start moving, thye start dropping on a hot summer day. The sensors are located under sheetmetal that get hot from the UV rays, so they are more accurate at measuring the ambient temperature if you are moving.
