Simple oil change went bad

Usually takes 15-20 min. to change the oil in the Dodge truck. Had it done yesterday when a screwdriver fell between the radiator and air condition condensor. I use the big screwdriver to knock the oil filter loose from the topside. The screwdriver is lodged. Not good. I came inside and drank 2 beers. It is hung up on a ledge underneath the truck and against the radiator. Can't snag it anyway but will have to remove some stuff. So I came inside and will do it tomorrow. Drank 2 more beers. This morning it looked worse. I have more coolers in the front of the truck than I expected to get to it. So I remove the tranny cooler. Next is the intercooler. next is the radiator condensor. Then the radiator. 2.5 hour oil change. [V][V]

Magnetic wand? I have one with a telescoping handle for just this purpose. Can reach into tight places and snag a tool or bolt.

Just abandon the screwdriver. Would it damage anything being where it is?

I tried that. The screwdriver was lodged and would have poked a hole in the radiator for rubbing eventually. Learned a big lesson. Don't lay tools up there again.

Yes the 20 minute oil change for me is a thing of the past. It takes me 20 minutes just to get up from under the truck.

changed the oil in my 'hoe in about 15 minutes yesterday.

it still runs today, so that's good.

I quit changing my own oil 20 years ago. Just got tired of crawling cars and trucks. Getting grease-oil in my hair. Grit in my eyes. [V]

Don't forget the step stool. 16.88 would be sweet. They get around $90-$100 to do my diesel truck. I'll pass on that amount.

One of those little runts huh?

My uncle used one of those, and still couldn't reach things. He was pulled inside the engine well with his feet about 6 iniches above the top of the step stool he was using when my cousin pulled it away. When he tried to slide back to the step stool, it wasn't there. When he hit concrete, he took off chasing us.

Man, for a short guy, he could run! Nearly twisted both of out ears off![:D]
