Ran into an old friend from GB at the Allentown, Pa, gun show today.

Yup, Salzo himself was there, that is what's left of him. Seems he went on a diet and loss a lotta weight since February....

He looks great and says hello!

    Sal,

Did you go to the PA Expo Center? I was there on Saturday, 9/27 it was empty. They weren't even charging for parking. I had a good day. Sorry we missed one another.

At least two federal judges agree with you on the first amendment application to the No Call list. In typical liberal fashion, my solution is to block political and charity calls along with the marketers. Maybe we need another amendment! Actually since the phone companies are makeing money on the calls and call blocking, I think they should answer all the telemarketing calls and give us free call blocking. That way we would not mess with the constitution adding another amendment.

Maybe I will just take out the phone and only communicate with folks here on the board.

    Sal,

We are all awaiting word on the new baby. Tell wifey, if she can hold out until Sunday, the baby will share it's birthday with ol' njretcop.

Best of luck to you all. We are praying for everyone to be healthy and that the baby is better looking than the father, lol.

That Colt turned out to be a real honey! I want to thank you again for your help in my getting it.

It was not fired very much and is all original, having been made in 1919. Finally found something older than me, lol.

I will bring it to next gun show we attend , so you can get closer look. Thanks pal....

A couple of weeks ago we talked about ear plugs that close to eliminate loud sounds for hunting use. Did you locate those? If not, I will be going by Outdoor World Monday and would be happy to pick up a pair to send you. Let me know today (6-20) or tomorrow.

Nothing yet. I know I was thinking of a bolt rifle, but now Im considering a Savage 99.
But if I go with the bolt, it will probably be the remington-and your comment about the Tikka being more picky with respect to ammunition cinched it for me.
    Thanks for the help.

I was going to say that if you bought a Tikka, I would be interested to know if it was the same way. Take a look at the Savage 110 also. You will notice that the barrel screws to the receiver and has a large jam nut on it. It's ugly, but it is how they fine tune the head space. It alows them to set it dead nuts, and man, is it accurate! I like it because it has a drop type magazine. Like I siad in the other post, the Howa and Savage were the best out of the box guns I've ever had, and they were the lowest cost. The Howa had a beautiful blue, and the Savage had a Ruger quality finish. (not too good)

Did you ever find out if Howa built a left hander? My wife is a south paw, and I would consider one for her.

DHEFFLY- I checked some gun books that I have, to see if the Howa makes left handed rifles-the books I have do not say that Howa makes left handed guns. That does not mean that they do not make left handed guns, because the books do not mention that other gun companies make left handed guns, when I know for a fact that they do.
I have also done searches on the web for HOWA information, and have come up with nothing. One search sent me to "inter arms" but when I tried to go to the sight, it says "domain for sale".
If I find out anything I will let you know.
